It is a time of peace in the galaxy. For a thousand years the mystic Jedi Order has served as peacekeeper of the Republic, maintaining peace in the service of the Galactic Senate. Obi-Wan Kenobi achieved the title of Jedi Knight after defeating the Sith who killed his master, the Noble Qui-Gon Jinn. To honor Qui-Gon’s dying wish, Obi-Wan has taken Anakin Skywalker as his Padawan, training him in the ways of the Jedi.
Several years have passed since Anakin began his studies in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. He has proven to be stronger in the Force than any child trained in generations. However, Anakin and Obi-Wan have both begun to question their roles in the destiny of the Force and Anakin is planning to leave the Jedi Order. But first they embark upon a mission to the far reaches of the galaxy to respond to a distress call on Carnelion IV.
Obi Wan ends up crash landing because of a dense debris field in orbit of the planet. They discover the ruins of an advanced Civilization abandoned beneath a sickly cloud cover with primitive survivors living on the mountain peaks above. A battle between two airships ensues with one plummeting towards the surface. Kenobi and Skywalker save a pair of women from the ship and a man named Grecker from the other.
They are from two warring factions the Open and the Closed, but they put their differences aside in order to survive. With the remains of the two airship Anakin constructs a ship that helps them retreat to safety. Obi-Wan explains to the two factions that they are on the planet to respond to a distress signal. And both factions agree to help him get to the coordinates of the rare signal that made it off world.
Before they get to the location. The two woman of the Open kidnap Anakin when their ship is attacked by wild creatures. They use a small airplane to destroy the airship with Grecker and Obi-Wan still on board. The Two survive and make their way to the coordinates of the distress call.
Meanwhile Anakin is forced to repair the war droids for the Open. Then they leave to find the source of the distress signal and destroy it. Obi-Wan has made contact with the person who sent the signal. A person called the Scavenger by those that live above the poison clouds. She is the last person trying to end the war by collecting art from the ruined civilization and sending little pieces up on kites.
With all the Open leaving to destroy the scavenger only the youth are left to watch over Anakin. He is able to convince them that the scavenger needs to be saved and that the only reason the adults want to destroy her is because she shows them that more than war can exist in the world. They agree and they all go to save the scavenger.
When they get their the Open and the Closed are all fighting to kill each other and the Scavenger. Anakin saves Obi-Wan from one of the Open’s mechs. Obi-Wan then takes Anakin to the scavengers Transmitter and has him repair it. The fighting continues for a short time and then the clouds part and a republic fleet descends through the clouds. ObI-Wan then tells Anakin that he told the Republic that the planet had high concentrations of Tibanna Gas in the atmosphere.
Anakin questions this and Obi-Wan says he doesn’t know and the point was to get them their. The Republic with spend a lot of time on surveys and in that time they won’t allow the hostilities to continue, allowing peace to have a chance to blossom. He says to Anakin even though the system doesn’t work as a Jedi he has more power to help others then he would as just Obi-Wan Kenobi. He then asks Anakin if he still wants to walk the road alone.
